Bumblebee

Small wings, no lift?
Shortchanged, what gift?

Odds against me?
I can't win?
What's within me?
How and when

Will I get off the ground
And buzz around?
No more bound
Up, not down.

Look at me,
What do you see?
An earthly impossibility?
The reality of a bumblebee.

But you need
To take into account
That your beliefs about me
Don't really count.

I know who I am
And what I can achieve;
The thing you can't see
Is what hides within me.

Keep on doubting,
Keep on assuming --
I'll keep on buzzing,
I'll keep on zooming.

So I am fuzzy --
But fast are my wings;
They may be little,
But don't forget about my sting.

You say I can't fly
But somehow I do it;
You say I might die
But I won't listen to it;
You say I shouldn't try
But there's nothing to it.

I am a bumblebee,
Yes it's true --
The big question is:
What are you?
