Pray For The Day

This is the day You have made.
I'm excited to get it under way.

Each new day is a gift and a blessing
Filled with so many positive lessons.

I receive this day with a heart of gratitude
Asking You to heal my mood and attitude.

I don't know what the day will bring
But my faith will carry me over everything.

The day ahead is sparkling with promise and possibility.
Your perfect peace will give me calmness and tranquillity.

I ask for good news and positive developments -
Happy events that are Heaven-sent.

Give me the strength to leave yesterday behind
Claiming today what is spiritually mine.

Grant me the vision to see the bright side
That I may take the day in carefree stride.

Open my eyes, Lord, to every opportunity.
Boost my immunity and practical ingenuity.

I am Your vessel, I am Your servant
Trusting You for insight and discernment.

Anoint me with the fresh oil of Thy Spirit.
Whatever the hurdle, empower me to clear it.

Strengthen me to go the extra mile today.
Come what may, help me to smile anyway.

I am a sower, You give me the seed
So You will provide for my every need.

I believe wonderful things today will happen.
I trust You to supply all that I'm lacking.

The angels are singing for the Son is shining
So the clouds today will have a silver lining.

It's a new day, Your mercies are renewed.
For this blessing I praise and I thank You.

Amen.

When God Tells You to Turn Left

July 10, 2019
Centre, Alabama, USA

I thought it would be cool to record lightning flashing through the evening clouds. Only later did I discover the peculiar flash that bears a "striking" resemblance to a left-pointing arrow (pardon the pun).

Pause the video at the :50 mark.

Reign Falls

History hath that tendency
To weave this tragic tapestry --
Stained with pain
Bane of reign
Travesty and tyranny
Of devilish dynasty.

Beyond unwieldy doors
Of the olden palace
A bejeweled fool doth rule --
Loyal queen, royal flings
Blinged rings, golden chalice.

Jesters and minstrels
They play and they sing.
Doth the royal robe
Cloak a set of wings?

From floor to fort
Courts may sport warts
And crowns can be found
Upon heads of clowns.

Blood on the ground
Spectrum of sound
From desperate scream
To greed of cha-ching --
Treasures and measures
To which the king clings.

YET

All the jewels and gems
Ruled and had by him
Or found within the realm --
May abate the fate
That surely awaits
Or neutralize the sting
The Grim One brings?
What tower
Or power
May beat back
That dark hour?

The supernova
Who just exploded
Onto the scene
Onto screens --
All that panache
And cache of cash
Blind by the lines
Of fame and flash.

Household name
Corners the game --
All the fame
In our world
Carpets of red
Unfurled.

Sidewalks carved
With stars
Lots of yachts
Sets of jets
Royalties and
Cars.

Ev'ry last wish and whim --
Done.
Filled to the hilt and brim --
Fun.

All this and all that
Tho'
Not worth a sole soul
No?

Ice is nice
For a price
But there abides
A side to Life
Beyond coin
Pearl and price.

Movers and shakers
Losers and takers
The winners
And then there's
The sinners.

Hoboes and CEOs --
One begs for Joe
In the open cold
The other goes for gold.

Never mind net worth --
One Life, One Earth
Temporary ev'ry birth
Full circle unto dirt.

Stuff without Love --
Considering it's withering
What purpose is served?
What's the actual worth?

Shadow elite
Undisclosed street
Secretly they meet.

The course of our planet --
For worse they do plan it?

Behind darkened windows
Lines of agenda
What plots they discuss --
Future fate of us?

Here's the deal --
There comes a day
(Not too far away)
What's made
In the shade
Will
Be revealed
Into light of
Day.

In the end
Where we've been
FINALITY --
After the wins
Sins and friends
REALITY.

One thing will matter
Upon Life's ladder --
Did we climb after
Our King, The Master?
