Not Now

The unpleasant present 

you hold in your hands ...

wait for it

to become grains

of falling sand.

The menacing opponent 

this imprisoning moment ...

wait for it

to serve as a component.

The darkening day

of uncertainty and fear ...

wait for it

to suddenly become clear

and the sunshine 

of a better time 

to certainly appear.

The barren tree

bearing bare branches ...

wait for it

to bloom with new chances.

The entertaining game

whatever type 

of hyped bout ...

wait for it

to eventually 

sequentially 

play all the way out.

The demon in disguise 

screened from human eyes ...

wait for it

to be disrobed 

by the light.

The worthless substance 

of the unchanged 

same old ...

wait for it

to transmute into 

true gold.

The seeming end 

of the matter 

of shattered dreaming 

and heart ...

wait for it

to mend 

into a blessed 

fresh start.

Escape to Safety

I can't hear

a thing.

In here

I'm a king.

No more

noise.

Only peace

and poise.

Within this

bubble 

I'm without 

trouble.

No wind

gets in.

No storm

can form.

No demon

screaming.

Inside

I can hide.

I can fly.

I can't die.

In this place 

the external 

is replaced 

by eternal.

In this 

covered realm

I can't be

overwhelmed.

In it

I am

transcendent.

Animation 

suspended.

This elation 

is splendid!

What is this space

and where?

The Secret Place

of prayer.

Inner Space

this lair.

Out there

I medicate.

In here 

I levitate 

as I

meditate.

This higher

dimension 

requires

ascension.

the one you choose 

becomes a door.

a platitude --

multitude.

and the final song

what will Heaven's hymnal 

and the eternal journal 

say?

Upon the time

when the tale unfolds 

will the same remain 

to hold?

Beyond the veil 

of darkening 

smoke

can you tell 

the surviving spark

of hope?

At the conclusion 

of this material 

illusion 

will there be confusion 

or spiritual 

evolution?

After all 

is done and 

said

the soul shall stand 

to walk among 

the dead.
