Angels on The Edge

THE GLORIOUS ONES

I wonder what you think
Of the human race
From your celestial pedestal
Above time and space?

In our lil' world that revolves
How long have you been involved?

When you peer out through fiery eyes
What do you see?
What are the sights?

What is the force
Powering your flight?
From whence rises the sword
By which you fight?
How does it feel
To wield such might?
And what is it like
To dwell in Almighty light?

Oh the lofty missions must you undertake
Beyond the mundane monotony of my day!

To imagine the action of powers unseen
Whilst I'm lost in scenes of dreams!

What are the rules by which you play?
How are you moved by what I pray?

Do any earthly factors
Influence you to act?
Do human errors
Hold you back?

Are your armies ever overwhelmed or rattled
Within the unseen realm in which you battle?

Tho' I think I wish to see you
Would actually I run away
If my senses could perceive you
Assembled in awesome array?

I guess it's for the best
Some questions remain unanswered --
For there's only so much
The human brain can handle.

💫

I AM SERA

I am here with you
To see you through
To lead you to
A safe place of refuge

I have arrived
With fiery eyes
By your side
To help you realize
He is very alive

I am on fire
But it's a flame
That's holy and higher
Let my fire inspire

From a distant land
To earthly soil and sand
I've come to stand
To help you understand
The presence of The Blessed Hand
Adored by Heaven's band

Be not afraid
Of my blaze
You pray
I blaze
Here, your prayer
There, I flare

As Isaiah Six depicts
My wings are six
And a fiery glow
My form emits

I am a spark
In the dark
When it's stark
Where serpents lurk
I am a torch

In the realm of evil forces
With riders of pale horses
Demons are screaming
At our glorious chorus

We are The Seraphim
We exist for Elohim
We assist the redeemed
Whether day or dream
A supreme team
The Seraphim

💫

THE GUARDIAN PRAYER

Favor has found me.
Angels are around me.
Your Light does surround me.

I am guarded, I am safe.
I am sheltered in the Secret Place.

Tho' my flesh dwells here below
Still I abide under Your divine shadow.

I lean on Thee each and every hour
Trusting in Thy supernatural power.

You make Your angels a flaming fire.
They lift me up, they carry me higher
Above and beyond my temporal distress
Bringing Heaven's peace to all my stress
Scattering fear, worry and all the rest.
Yes I believe! Yes I am blessed!

Through the fog of fallen Earth
Amidst this world's spiritual dearth
Christ has redeemed me from every curse.
In Him there's new hope, new birth.

At His feet the angels bow down
Wings pointing to His glorious crown.

My fear is gone.
My faith is sparked.
The living Word
Lives big in my heart.

Out with doubt -
Lord, I believe
That angels unseen
Are ministering to me.

Amen.

SPHERE OF DESTINY

"Well? Say something, son."

George has no words. At least not any he can utter without unpleasant repercussions. Drenched in disappointment, he can only stare with drooping eyebrows at the object before him.

"I thought you would like it," expresses his dad. "I wanted to get you something fun for doing so well in your classes. The guy said it was special."

George's mom, Beth, leans toward her husband's ear. "What guy?," she whispers.

"The guy. You know, the man in the...ahem...the thrift store."

John Charles Redding isn't the prototypical bargain hunter. Far from it. He can pretty much afford anything his capitalist heart desires. Nonetheless, he is rather devoted to the practice of frugality. To a fault, according to a significant other.

"You mean you went back to that dusty junk pile?" Beth is incredulous. She leers at her cheap, paradoxically-loaded hubby.

"Thrift store, honey. It's a thrift store. And yes, I like a good deal. What's so terrible about that?" He waves his hand with all the flair of a game show model. As if to say, without actually saying it, How else do you think I made enough money to buy all this? You're welcome.

Beth isn't having it. "So pathological cheapness is the secret to success? Is that what you're driving at? You couldn't go all out just once, even to buy your son something that doesn't need to be dusted off?"

It's officially on.

"All out? Go all out? Are you kidding me, Beth? All I do is go all out!" He begins to twirl his arms in the air. "How else do you think --"

Beth thrusts her quivering palm in his face. "Stop it! Just stop right there! If I hear one more time about this palace that the king has so graciously built for his ungrateful queen, I'm going to explode!"

"You're not exploding already? Well call me when your fuse gets lit!"

George might as well not even exist when his parents go at it like this. In fact, he has been absent for a good ten minutes before they even notice. He has once again retreated to his bedroom. Eventually, the storm dies down. Day turns into night. And there in the darkness, a vestige. A trace. A lone and out-of-place object. The "gift" remains on the dark Brazilian Cherry floor.

WHAT A BUY

"I'll be with you in a sec."

The elderly proprietor calls out from the back. It takes a little bit for him to emerge. When he does, he is greeted by his most loyal customer.

"Well hey there, son. What can I do for you?"

The customer grins from ear to ear. "Son! Ha ha. That's one of the reasons I love this place. Where else can I be made to feel so young?"

JC Redding has a recent purchase tucked under his arm. The playful banter has somewhat mitigated his annoyance. Until, that is, he is forced to explain the reason for his visit.

"I need to return this thing, if I can." He holds the object of contention in his upturned hands. "I bought it for my son. But he doesn't give two flips about it. And my wife -- "

The old man interrupts. "I'm sorry, Mr. Redding. I don't give refunds or accept returned merchandise. That's been my policy for a long time. I thought you knew that."

At this news, Redding wrestles with almost unbearable exasperation. Cursing under his breath, he turns to leave. "Hold up there, son." The old man is beckoning his return with gnarled fingers. "Let me take another look at that thing."

Hesitantly, a cherry-cheeked Redding approaches the counter. The old man reaches into his faded shirt pocket and pulls out a pair of beige-rimmed spectacles. The object shakes in his hands as he inspects every square inch. As if he hasn't seen it before. As if it wasn't sold in his own store. Redding watches in ever-growing confusion.

After a few minutes of awkward silence, curious grunts turn into commentary.

"Interesting. Very interesting. I'm not sure where this thing came from. My son does most of the acquisitions these days. I can't get out there like I used to. You know?"

The old man briefly and pitifully looks up. Redding nods with understanding. At the same time, he struggles mightily to hold in a booming thought. So are you gonna give me a refund or not? Otherwise, what's the point of this inspection? I could be outta here already. You see, that's the rub with one John Charles Redding. His mood can swing more wildly than his hedge funds.

Respectfully, though, he must ask a burning question.

"Do you not remember selling it to me? Yesterday? You told me it was special."

The old man sets the object down on the rotting counter. Removing his glasses, he looks at Redding with a blank expression. "I'm sorry, son. I really don't. My memory ain't what it used to be. But if I said it was special, then it must be special." He begins to chuckle. "I wouldn't lie to you. I am sure of that. You don't last in business this long by being dishonest."

Both men turn their attention to the object. There it sits, partially illuminated by a dim light bulb hanging overhead. The shape is square, a cube, inset with circular "windows" of various colors on the sides. There is strange writing on the top and bottom. The old man theorizes that it's a Japanese toy. Redding doesn't think so, having spent considerable time in Tokyo on business. That is most definitely not Japanese script, he assures himself.

The old man steps away to answer the phone. Redding drums impatiently on the counter's edge with his uncalloused fingertips. He pivots his head around, scanning the disorganized heap of secondhand items. Too bad. Else he would be in a better position to avoid some impending and unbelievable pain.

"MUTHA---!!!!"

What appears, at first glance, to be a bowling ball has rolled off the counter onto his foot. The subsequent curses are so loud that the old man is forced to hang up the phone. A young mother, covering her son's ears, quickly exits the store.

Redding picks up the offender, surprised at its lack of weight. How can something so light inflict so much pain on a human foot? On the counter, it becomes apparent that the object is no bowling ball. No finger holes, no indentations of any kind. It's transparent, clear as crystal. Simultaneously, the two men reach out to touch the curious object. When they make contact, it begins to vibrate, emitting a humming sound. And as if the strangeness hadn't quite reached its peak, the "ball" begins to glow -- from the inside. A pulsing array of beautiful hues. Brief but breathtaking.

Redding thinks to inquire about this spherical oddity, but he quickly discards the notion. He can see that the old man is equally perplexed. It's obvious this is his first encounter with it too -- at least that he can remember. One thing is for certain, though. Redding must have this thing, even if he has to reach uncomfortably deeper into his pocket.

Both men have utterly forgotten about the original item. The underperforming cube which brought Redding back here on this day. It's nowhere to be found, anyway. Vanished out of sight. Not that anyone is looking.

SPHERICAL INTERVENTION

"Oh I can't BUH-LEEVE this!"

The drive home had been going so good. Redding was uncharacteristically beside himself with excitement. He had pulled off yet another impressive deal back at the thrift store. Sure, this deal won't make millions. Or hundreds. Or any money, actually. But he is confident that it will earn him some coveted brownie points with George.

He takes a quick glance at his unique "passenger" -- intermittently pulsing with an array of luminous colors. Strangely, he feels a sense of serenity mingled with purpose. As if some higher power is pleased with his acquisition.

Then it happens.

Beams of red light flood the car. Followed by blue. Redding looks in the rearview mirror, but he can't see the police cruiser. The flashing lights are too bright. Angrily pulling over, he figures his infraction must have been speeding.

Clearing his throat, Redding reaches into his mental holster for a legitimate excuse. He rolls down the window, anxiously awaiting for the officer to appear. Thirty seconds. One minute. Two minutes. Three. When five whole minutes have elapsed, he realizes that something is amiss.

It's not the wisest course of action in a situation such as this. Redding knows it. He's watched enough cop shows to know it. But, beset by confusion and growing anxiety, he does it anyway. He opens the car door and steps outside. Slowly, cautiously, on his own initiative. Once outside, squinting through the sunshine, his perplexity only deepens.

Not only is there a missing cop, but there is no cop car. Nothing. Nil. Nada. His beloved Benz sits eerily alone by the side of the road.

Okay. Redding scratches his graying head. This is just about the weirdest day I've ever had. It doesn't make sense. How can a police car vanish into thin air? Did it leave at some point, in the other direction? To a more urgent call? Is that possible? How could I have failed to hear it?

A breeze sweeps across his bewildered countenance. A final shake of his head and he turns back toward his car. At the precise moment when his fingertips touch the door handle, the flashing lights return. They are so bright that he stumbles backward, shielding his eyes with his forearm. You see, and he now sees, the red and blue lights don't belong to a police cruiser. Instead, they originate from his most recent, and most unusual, purchase. That ball thing can flash like a police siren, too! Oh yeah, I'm golden. George is gonna love it.

Redding reaches out to touch the spherical object in the passenger seat. But when he tries to remove his hand, it feels cemented to the "toy." Then, with his hand still irresistibly attached, two words reverberate through his mind. A simple instruction. Go slow. Go slow. Go slow.

Curious. The mental directive sounds like his own voice. But he knows that it's more than his imagination. He is confident that it's beyond mere internal dialogue. It's as if the sphere is telepathically communicating with him. Ordinarily, he would quickly discard such a "ridiculous" notion, provided such a notion ever gained entrance to his brain at all. But considering the day's bizarre goings-on...Well, maybe more is possible than JC Redding has allowed himself to believe.

Regaining control of his hand, he returns to the road. All the while repeating to himself the pointed command. Go slow. Go slow. Go slow. Actually, he is surprised when he hears the words flowing out of his own mouth. In any event, he does indeed go slow. The wisdom of this decision will soon become apparent.

Traffic is sparse at first. But a few miles up the road, Redding approaches a queue of motionless cars. He can see several people walking around, clearly upset. There's been a major accident. As he would later learn, something caused the traffic light to malfunction, resulting in a multi-car collision.

For a flicker of time, Redding begins to feel annoyance at yet another delay. But his better self, the one with compassion, quickly takes over. He feels really bad for those people ahead of him. Those who were unfortunate enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong moment of time. And their loved ones. It could have very easily been him, if...

Wait a minute. The realization hits him with sudden and awe-inspiring force. He looks at the spherical object beside him. It dimly pulses with the same red and blue lights, as if to confirm its new owner's insight. That thing saved my life! Redding realizes that, had it not mimicked a police siren, causing him to pull over, it would be his mangled car up there under the traffic light. Then he remembers the telepathic admonition to go slow, for good measure. Tears well up in his eyes, an occurrence so rare to almost qualify as a miracle on its own.

It might be a while before he makes it home. That's okay. He will have something extraordinarily special under his arm, whenever he arrives.

A BOY'S PULSE

"Are you kidding me?"

Beth slings the ice pack across the room. Her head is pounding to the beat of an epic migraine. She had hoped to get some peace and relaxation before hubby gets home. (If history is any guide, there will likely be an argument about something -- even if it's the most trivial of matters.) But it's not to be.

She bolts from the couch, annoyed beyond belief, to see what's the trouble with George. Although sequestered behind his bedroom door, she can hear his voice. He's yelling something. She can't quite make it out. Sort of sounds like the word "orbit," but she's not sure. Ordinarily, it would make her concerned that something's wrong. But as she approaches the door through blurred vision, she can hear him giggling and laughing between outbursts.

Must be playing a video game or watching one of his shows, she reasons to herself. Withdrawing her extended hand from the doorknob, she turns and walks away. Just in time to miss the colorful slivers of light escaping under the door.

ACTIVATION

"So George, how was school today? Anything interesting happen?"

Beth quizzes her unusually-quiet son, who hasn't made eye contact all evening. It's dinner time, and the youngest Redding seems inordinately focused on his bowl of soup. He manages to shake his head in the negative between slurps, hoping against hope to end the line of questioning.

What he doesn't realize, but should, is that his mother isn't seeking new information. Only a confession. For she has recently been apprised of the day's happening at school. By no less than the principal, in whose office George had spent some considerable time.

"Really, son?" She is light years away from giving up. "Nothing? So just another day of learning and schoolwork. Right? And you didn't get into any fights?" At this latter question George abruptly drops his spoon into his bowl. Busted. Now the only remaining slurps belong to his ravenous and disengaged father.

"Son, look at me. How many times have we told you to walk away? You know they just like to provoke you. Then what happens? You are the one who gets in trouble. Then I am the one who has to drop my plans and deal with another uncomfortable phone call."

Beth shifts her frustration to her furiously-slurping husband. "And you. Are you here? At all? Don't you have anything to add to this discussion? Take some sort of interest in your son's education, for crying out loud."

It's been a minute since John Charles encountered the mind-boggling capabilities of the "secondhand" sphere. Sure, on that day, he connected with a part of himself that he didn't know existed. A rendezvous with the paranormal tends to have that effect. But the memory of that day has faded behind the incessant demands of business, an incredulous spouse and his own self-doubt.

"Oh Beth, come on. Give the boy a break. Fights are gonna happen. I had my fair share when I was his age. Relax."

A grin of relief momentarily forms on George's freckled face. At least he's not completely outnumbered this time.

Normally, Beth's eyes are beautifully blue. But in this moment, as she glares at her other half, they might as well be flaming orange. She has crossed over beyond frustration to fury. She can't handle the indifference. Or being told to "relax." And she really can't deal with the fact that John Charles still hasn't bothered to look at her.

It doesn't take long for George's grin to fade. He realizes what's about to happen. Another screaming match. Probably a few broken dishes in a few minutes from now. In times past, he would run to his bedroom and cower in the closet. But not this time. The precocious boy who dreams of becoming a scientist decides upon an experiment.

"ORB IT!"

George screams at the top of his youthful lungs. It's not enough to calm the storm. So he gives it another go.

"ORB IT! ORB IT! ORB IT!"

Eyes closed, he can't see their reaction. But he hears something wonderful. Silence. Carefully, slowly, he sneaks a peek through one slightly-raised eyelid. His parents are staring at him with utter confusion. Soon it transitions into compassion.

Beth is the first to speak -- with a broken voice and teary eyes. "George, honey, we're sorry. This is not the way parents should act. No wonder you have been fighting at school. It's all you see at home."

John Charles nods in agreement. Suddenly he leans over and plants a gentle kiss on his wife's cheek. "And I'm sorry, sweetheart, to you. I love you. I'm gonna try my best to be better around here. You guys deserve nothing less."

Broadly smiling, George looks upward. To the pulsing sphere of kaleidoscopic light hovering above his parents' heads. Hot dog, it works!

"What works?" Mom and Dad inquire in unison.

Oops. George didn't mean to think out loud. He just grins and asks to be excused. He is pretty sure they wouldn't believe him, anyway. Besides, there are more experiments to try.

THE LATEST

"Okay team, here's the latest."

Dr. Kelly Chandler has assembled his volunteer staff of researchers in the briefing room of The O.R.B. Corp headquarters.

"A recent case has revealed further details concerning the capabilities of these things."

The things to which Dr. Chandler refers are the mysterious and ubiquitous spheres of light that have recently taken an influential interest in earthly affairs.

"So apparently the orbs can shape-shift, solidify into tangible form and even morph into an impressive array of material objects." He pauses for a moment to let the news sink in. "And, it seems, they can also mimic everyday sounds and other sensory effects. The good news? So far, they have employed these abilities for benevolent ends. Now it falls to us to determine, hopefully, the mechanism by which they're doing it. I don't need to explain the promising possibilities if we are successful in this task."

Suddenly the exhausted scientist undergoes a bout of coughing. His young assistant springs into action, bringing a cup of water.

"Thanks so much, Robbie. I really like that shirt, by the way."

The industrious intern sports a black, star-littered tee. In the center, a single word.

"What's it say?" Dr. Chandler leans forward.

Need Eden?

Did You Know?

The words "need" and "Eden" are anagrams of one another.

You can turn need into Eden by simply switching the letters around a little bit.

Isn't that neat?

Actually, it's better than neat. It reveals an important spiritual principle.

Eden represents the blessing of being in the perfect will of God. In the Bible, the Garden of Eden was paradise -- essentially Heaven on earth. Adam and Eve had every need met before they sinned. That's the place where God put them, the place where He wanted them to be.

Likewise, there is a place in this life where God wants us to be, where we are in the perfect will of God. It's in this place where blessings flow and our needs are met.

Does this mean we won't have any more problems and that all will be smooth sailing? Of course not. But we put ourselves in the best spiritual position when we are in our proper place within God's will and plan for our lives.

Heaven's Healing (SPHERES OF INFLUENCE)

Heaven's door. It's painted pink and adorned with a glittery heart. There's an angel on the other side, but she's resting at the moment.

Heaven Turner needs each and every wink. The adorable little girl has a big fight on her hands. A fight that no soul should be forced to wage, especially one so young and precious.

The sickening symptoms seemed to strike out of nowhere. First came the headaches, followed soon after by the nausea and vomiting. Heaven's loving parents, observing the ever-increasing frequency of the attacks, were forced to face an upsetting reality. Something is terribly wrong with the health of their once-lively daughter. And something had to be done about it. Soon.

"She's probably got the flu." One theory, but they have heard it more than a few times. From well-intentioned family members, friends, acquaintances, even their own mitigating thoughts. Except that the supposed sickness wasn't passing, or even lessening in severity. And after multiple visits to the ER and their family doctor, nothing was made any clearer. So the search for a solution, or at least an answer, branches off into a much broader direction.

Tomorrow will mark the beginning of extensive pediatric testing for Heaven. She has no idea about the perilous road ahead. All she knows, and wants, is to feel like a normal kid again. A restless night is all but guaranteed for her worried parents. Sleep? Too much thinking and praying to do for that.

Olivia Turner sighs and snuggles, resting her hand on her hubby's burdened chest. "What time is it?". Liam cranes his neck to the side and returns with a grin. "Believe it or not," he reports, "it's...well it's eleven minutes past eleven. Seriously."

Olivia stares at him through distinctive green eyes. "Really?"

Liam nods his head, caressing his soul mate's beautiful face. "That's a positive sign. Right?" The embattled couple share a kiss. There hasn't been an abundance of things going right lately. But at least they have synchronicity on their side. The thought bestows upon Olivia a measure of peace. Transitory, yes. But she is learning to take hope and optimism in doses, however small.

Liam turns his attention toward his buzzing phone on the nightstand. Through strained eyes he scrolls through a stream of themed tweets. Each one appears to be about the same trending news item. Apparently something spectacular happened at the site of a burning building somewhere across the country. He feels drawn to one particular re-share of the video footage. Too tired to watch it, he glances at the social response. Eleven likes, eleven comments.

Wow. Liam has to sit up and take another look. The coincidence is uncanny. He starts to show it to Olivia but he sees that her eyes are closed. Either she has managed to fall to much-needed sleep, or she is silently in prayer. In any event, he doesn't want to disturb her. But man, these synchronous happenings are really piling up, he thinks to himself.

What might it all mean, if anything?

HEAVEN'S HOUSE

A cold, rainy November morning. The world receives a precious gift. As do two beaming lovebirds. The hospital room is infused with so much love and hopeful anticipation for the future. Liam leans in, kissing mother and baby like only a newbie dad can. Time of birth: 10:11 in the a.m. Later, however, Olivia would discover a seemingly-mundane error on little Heaven's birth certificate. Time of birth: 11:11 a.m.

A few miles away from the hospital sits a modest structure, painted white with a weather-battered cross on top. The sign out front reads House of Heaven in brass script. On sunny days, the reflective letters seem to glow with golden glory to the motorists and pedestrians passing by. This ethereal effect is most fitting, considering the church's namesake.

Olivia grins through the car window on the way home. The roadside church will forever occupy a special place in her heart. It was there, during a midweek revival service, where the visiting evangelist introduced her to the supernatural. The gravelly-voiced preacher called her up front, laid his sweaty palm on her head and prophesied that she would give birth to a miracle. What he had no way of knowing, through natural means, was that she had suffered a miscarriage in the recent past. The experience had shaken her to the core and tested her budding marriage.

For "some" reason, she had felt compelled to visit the humble house of worship. This despite the fact that she hadn't stepped a toe in any church in years. Many years. It was an excruciatingly-hurtful time in her life, though, and pain has a way of pushing a person in unprecedented directions. It would turn out to be among the best decisions of her life. The kind of decision that would alter the flow of her reality.

Back in her pew, wiping tears of newfound hope from her eyes, Olivia made a decision. Should the prophesied miracle actually arrive, she would name it after this place. Heaven. Surely Liam wouldn't object, she reasoned, considering the personal hell they had endured.

Suddenly, the present moment calls her back. Liam pulls into the driveway of their cozy bungalow. They smile at one another before unbuckling to introduce their miracle to her earthly home. House of Heaven. The inevitable connection flashes into Olivia's grateful consciousness.

ORBIT

"Mommy! Daddy! Look!"

Heaven points up at the colorful planets above her head. Dozens of dazzling stars are aligned, creating a mesmerizing effect. Especially for a little girl who loves all things related to outer space. But Heaven is indoors at the moment. And this isn't a fun family visit to the local planetarium.

The Turners have been escorted into Exam Room 11 within Mercy Hospital's acclaimed pediatric ward. It's the first stop along the hopeful and desperate journey to find healing for an afflicted angel. It's tough enough to watch their beloved child suffer with unrelenting sickness. It's a whole other level of darkness to -- well, to be in the dark, not knowing what's happening, not knowing the identity of the enemy. First things first, Olivia and Liam are here to hopefully receive enlightenment concerning that latter issue.

"You okay?" Liam scans his soul mate's worried countenance, patting her slightly trembling hand. Olivia nods and musters half a smile. As if to say, Not really. But we'll get through this together. Heaven reaches toward the Styrofoam worlds above her head, while pressing her nauseated tummy with the other arm.

EARTH. SUN. MILKY WAY. An assortment of glittery, space-themed words adorn the walls of the examination room. Olivia glances at one word in particular.

Mysteriously, she finds difficulty in looking away. ORBIT. Something is compelling her to stare, to dwell, on that sequence of letters. O-R-B...Obviously, she has seen the word before. Many times. She attended elementary school, after all. I-T. ORBIT. ORBIT. Curious still, she feels the mental need to insert phonetic space between the first three letters and the remaining two. ORB IT. Shaking her head, she snaps out of it. Wow, the stress is really starting to work on my mind, she thinks to herself.

Footsteps can be heard at this point, steadily approaching, helping her to refocus. "Hopefully that's the doctor," expresses Liam. The waiting has become increasingly torturous. Thankfully, Heaven has fallen asleep, resting her head on her daddy's arm.

The star-speckled door mercifully opens...

A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

"I think I'm ready. Let's do this."

Kelly Chandler clears his throat one last time, while an assistant adjusts the clip-on mic clinging to his argyle tie. The fifty-something scientist, executive director of the newly-formed O.R.B. CORPS, is down to the last item on the day's packed agenda. He has sat down to record an introductory video to be posted on the investigative organization's website.

The freelance cameraman holds up two sets of collapsing fingers. The final one signals the rolling of the first, and hopefully the only, take.

"Greetings, my fellow earthlings," begins Dr. Chandler with a scripted grin. "We here at The O.R.B. Corps are happy and grateful for your visit to our site. Since you are watching this video, it's clear that you are, at the very least, curious about this mysterious phenomenon that has captured the world's attention and imagination. So are we. That's why we're here. Hopefully you will know more about our purpose, the scientific part we play in this issue, by the conclusion of this introductory video."

Chandler signals for a brief water break at this point. Turns out, chasing elusive life forms can be a dehydrating endeavor.

"My name is Dr. Kelly Chandler. In my former existence, not so long ago, I held a prestigious position as a professor of astronomy at a top-tiered university. I have authored several research papers that have put my name in the international news media, at least as filler material." The black-rimmed glasses on his tired face rise as he smiles at his own lighthearted description. "Life was comfortable. But then the reports started streaming in. It seemed everywhere I turned, I kept hearing about them. Even from my colleagues, none of whom could ever be accused of believing in the paranormal. Orbs. Mysterious spheres of light. Appearing out of seemingly nowhere, and disappearing in similar fashion. Floating. Blinking. Pulsing. Glowing with an array of luminescent hues. In some cases, even seeming to pursue the unnerved eyewitnesses."

A look of solemnity covers the professor's face. Mixed with very visible fascination. All centered around a subject that shouldn't elicit a second, or serious, thought from a man of such intellectual caliber.

"Let's be clear. The orb phenomenon is most certainly not a recent or modern development. Experiences involving mysterious spheres of ethereal light have a long history. The most notable case being the so-called Foo Fighters of the Second World War. When both Allied and Nazi air pilots reported balls of pulsating light hovering alongside their planes, achieving speeds and maneuvers beyond earthly capability, under seeming intelligent control."

The plan, to be implemented in the post-production stage, is to incorporate video and photographic clips of the still-unidentified aerial phantoms at this point.

"But as far as we know, these orbs never brought down a single aircraft or intervened either positively or negatively in the war. And such has been the case with the multiplicity of orb experiences throughout our planet's storied history. Until now."

Dr. Chandler proceeds to detail the seminal event that will ring familiar with his future viewers. The event that the whole world can't stop talking about. The event that signaled a major turning point in the "relationship" between the mysterious orbs and the people of Earth. The event that, consequently, thrust the distinguished scientist into a new career - into a new life path. When a glowing ball of orange saved human lives from a fiery end.

"The moment of truth. I had mine. Along with many of you, judging from the flood of correspondence we have received in the short history of our organization to date. I realized that I needed to do all within my power to research this phenomenon, utilizing scientific resources and methodology, so I could hopefully understand what - or who - it is that we are dealing with. And, of course, pass the findings on to the public. Those of you watching this video are vital partners with us here at the O.R.B. Corps in accomplishing that mission. So keep those reports coming in. Together, hopefully, we will eventually discover what exactly the orbs are, why they are here and what they might want from us. Each investigated case brings us one step closer to that all-important goal."

In the near future, the video will be posted. The website will crash beneath the unprecedented flood of views, from all parts of the globe. Apparently, the people of Earth are desperately searching for answers. So thinks Dr. Kelly Chandler with a stroke of his chin.

STEAMROLLED

"I'm very sorry. I know you need some time to process it. Just know that we will exhaust every treatment option available."

The Turners are numb. At no point in their marriage have they needed one another more. More than right now. But words cannot be found. Instead, all they can do is exchange stunned looks. As if they have been crushed beneath a steam roller and somehow managed to stand back up.

The results of Heaven's medical tests have just been disclosed. The CT scan shows a mass on her brain. In medical terms, the precocious preschooler suffers from an anaplastic ependymoma - a rare type of brain tumor. Relatively rare, as it's later explained to the devastated parents. There are approximately two hundred cases of the life-threatening condition diagnosed in the United States each year in children and young adults. One is too many, but why does my little angel have to be in that group? Just one of Olivia's incessantly tortured thoughts following the bad news.

The car ride home seems to take forever. Conversation is out of the question. No words can soothe the present hurt. The only sound is Heaven's intermittent groans of pain in the backseat.

Olivia stares blankly through the passenger window. Nothing really registers on her battered consciousness. Until, that is, they approach the church. House of Heaven. The sign out front announces the pastor's upcoming sermon. The title is in the form of a timely question. "DO YOU NEED AN ELEVENTH-HOUR MIRACLE?" Fittingly, the number 11 is displayed below it - the time when the service will begin on Sunday morning but also, Olivia assumes, a symbol for the message.

I would love to hear that sermon, she thinks. I need it like I've never needed anything in my life. But she can barely project her thoughts beyond the next hour, much less the end of the week. Besides, it would take something resembling a miracle for her drained and depressed body to carry her into the church. Nevertheless, the idea has been planted in her mind, in her spirit. As if on cue, a van passes in front of the car. The bumper is littered with an assortment of stickers. One in particular catches her eye. It reads:

GOD IS ALWAYS ON TIME.

TIME TO SHINE?

"Look at our angel. Isn't she beautiful? She has been through so much."

Olivia is nestled in Liam's chest, planted by Heaven's hospital bed. The youngest Turner has indeed been through a lot. Since the original diagnosis, she has undergone surgery, more than thirty rounds of proton therapy and three rounds of chemotherapy. Despite all this, she has not been improving at the rate that her doctors, and most definitely her parents, would like. Still, Olivia and Liam are calling upon every molecule of strength and optimism available within their war-weary spirits. For Heaven.

"She seems to be resting good," observes Liam.

Olivia begins to shut her sleep-deprived eyes when she is roused by a distinctive sound. A ping. She checks her phone. Nothing there. Looking behind her, she catches a glimpse of the television screen. It's the ending of a commercial for ORBIT® gum. For some reason, the concluding frame is stuck -- frozen in place, frozen in time. She is mesmerized by the sight. The logo, the word Orbit, the product's tagline: Time to Shine. In a flash, she remembers that day in the waiting room, when she felt strangely compelled to focus on that very same word. Orbit. Orbit. Orb..it. The frozen television screen is like a neon sign to her consciousness. Could this be a mere coincidence? Or a higher type of sign?

"What is it, sweetheart? What are you looking at?"

Liam pivots his neck toward the television. But the commercial has ended. Olivia rubs her bloodshot eyes. Too tired to explain, she kisses his cheek. "I'll tell you about it in the morning." They settle in for another night of hospital sleep. At least a few hours worth. They are with Heaven, they are together. That's all that matters to them.

UNUSUAL INTRUDER

The church is illuminated with red and blue flashes. Two police cruisers have arrived in House of Heaven's parking lot. They are responding to a possible intruder inside. During his nightly patrol, at approximately eleven o'clock, one of the officers spotted a suspicious light moving around inside the sanctuary.

A thorough check of the premises yields no indication of foul play. No footprints, no suspicious vehicles. All the doors and windows are intact. The officers knock on doors of houses situated within close proximity, and clear sight, of the church. Nada. No one has seen any "funny business," as an elderly gentleman put it.

"So you say the light was...pink?"

Corporal Luis Cabrera quizzes his brother in blue. The seasoned cop lowers his grizzled eyebrows in consternation. Officer Jeremy Taylor, his rookie partner, nods in the affirmative.

"That's how it looked from the road."

"Well it's not likely that an intruder would be using a pink light," offers Cabrera. "It's possible that the stained glass windows could make the light appear to have a pinkish hue. But even if somebody was prowling around in there, they somehow entered and left without a trace."

The two officers, separated by a chasm of decades and experience, leave the scene through an air of mystery. But at least there was no real emergency to confront. The same cannot be said for the scene a few miles down the road...

DAYS OF HEAVEN

A beam of moonlight slips through the fuchsia curtains of Heaven's hospital room. As it happens, the bedside table supports an open Bible. The lunar ray shines on the white pages, like a celestial spotlight, making the ancient text seem to glow. Amidst this optical effect, a tinge of yellow. A special scripture passage highlighted. The Old Testament book of Deuteronomy, chapter eleven, spanning the eighteenth and twenty-first verses --

"Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates: that your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth."

In the most literal sense, these verses had fallen into Olivia's lap. During one of the many sleepless nights by Heaven's bedside, needing a "word" from a higher place, she sat with the Bible upon her aching knees. She opened it, not quite sure where to go. She gazed upon the first words that awaited her discovery. And like a flashing beacon in the darkest night, the passage called out to her. Especially those last eight words:

"as the days of heaven upon the earth"

A tear dropped on the page. Olivia lifted her head and gazed at the precious child beside her. Her precious child who had suffered so much. Heaven's days upon the earth haven't exactly been heavenly, that's for sure. But the divine promise remained. Right there in front of her. "...the days of your children...be multiplied...as the days of heaven upon the earth." It can't be mere coincidence that these words of hope were the first to reveal themselves on that night. She was positive about that.

On this night, several weeks later, the open Bible abides by Heaven's side. Olivia and Liam are out of it. The hour is late, and they have succumbed to exhaustion.

Minutes later, Olivia rouses to a commotion in the room. Through groggy eyes she sees bodies surrounding Heaven's bed. She hears an alarming medley of anxious voices and loud beeps. The nurses are frantically at work. Forcefully she shakes Liam. "Baby, baby, wake up. Something's wrong with Heaven!" Instantly they bolt toward the chaos.

Some dark force, darker than the night, has invaded the room. Heaven is taking a drastic turn for the worse. Her vital signs are plummeting by the second. Olivia and Liam watch in horror, calling out her name and pleading for the nurses to help her. A needless, albeit understandable, plea. For they are doing all they can. It doesn't seem to be enough.

VISITATION HOUR

Vonda Harris taps her badge and recites her favorite verses from the ninety-first psalm. It's a nightly ritual, suggested by her pastor. The hospital security officer settles in for another round of the graveyard shift. Her eagle eyes are trained on a bank of flat-screen monitors. The montage of camera views allows her to see every nook and cranny of the medical facility.

All seems fine and secure for the moment. Nothing out of the ordinary catches her eye. She lowers her head briefly to make a note in her logbook. She reaches up to wipe her eyes, wishing she could have slept a bit longer before starting her shift. It doesn't help. For some mysterious reason, her peripheral vision is registering an out-of-place color. Pink. And it's rather bright. Looking up, the reality is revealed.

What in the...? Okay, this is new.

Any further thoughts are halted by her security training. Instantly she bolts out of her chair, while continuing to watch something that logic says she shouldn't be seeing. What appears to be a glowing ball of pink light is floating down the hallway on the first floor.

Ok, that has got to be some sort of camera glitch. That thought is quickly discarded, however, for a simple reason. As the mysterious sphere makes its way down the hall, the people in the path are visibly reacting to its presence. One patient instantly raises her arms and attempts to rise from her wheelchair. The attendant nurse struggles mightily to restrain the euphoric woman.

Whatever that thing is, it's really in the building. And moving at a rapid pace.

To add an additional layer of weirdness, the orb disappears in one spot and suddenly reappears in a further location. As if it's popping in and out of existence. Or somehow traversing dimensions. This behavior pattern makes it exceedingly difficult to track.

Officer Harris has not been trained to deal with this species of intruder. She shifts her attention to the adjacent camera view, anxiously awaiting its arrival. But it doesn't show. Third floor? Absent. Fourth floor? Not there, either. Finally she spots it again on the fifth floor cam, flying erratically and radiating a beautiful pink hue. The brightness has considerably intensified.

The "visitor" seems to have a specific destination in mind...

HEALING HEAVEN

Heaven has weathered the sudden storm. Her condition has stabilized. But the episode has left her severely weakened.

There on the table, the Bible yet remains. Amazing, considering the recent bustle around the bed. It has been pushed to the edge, however, dangling on the brink of falling to the floor. In another time, this symbolism wouldn't go unnoticed. But the Turners are a bit distracted at the moment.

Olivia and Liam stand over the bed, one on each side, each speaking words of comfort to their beloved daughter. Mainly, they want her to be assured that she's not alone, that Mommy and Daddy are with her. Olivia resolves, with every last fiber of her embattled being, to hold in the tears. For Heaven's sake, she is determined to be strong. Or at least appear so on the surface. Nevertheless, her little girl, bright and perceptive, notices Mommy's reddened and moist eyes.

"It's okay, I'm okay, You're okay, Okay?" They all burst out in giggles. Heaven is reciting the words to a silly song that she recently learned. A local clown had paid a visit to all the children, in order to lift their spirits. It was such a positive experience for Heaven and her parents.

"That's right, sweetie. It's okay. And everything will be okay." Olivia forces a smile before leaning in to kiss Heaven on the cheek. Truthfully, she wishes inwardly that she had more faith in the words that just proceeded from her own mouth.

Though the most recent battle has subsided, the war rages on. The nurses assured her and Liam of that reality a short while ago. None of them could give a good reason for Heaven's recent setback. But good news shouldn't be expected in the near future. At least from a medical vantage point. The promise of Heaven's treatment regimen, the hope of its efficacy, hasn't materialized. The doctor had already broke this disheartening news to Olivia and Liam. Still, he encouraged them to not give up hope. And they haven't. But the unsettling event on this night really hit their faith hard.

Suddenly the family moment by Heaven's side is shattered by a sound. A jolting sound. A nerve-racking and sickening sound.

A woman's scream reverberates through the hallway. Something hits the floor with a pop! noise, resembling that of gunfire. More screams and loud voices follow. The Turners are well aware of the world around them. A world where the unthinkable can happen anywhere, at any given moment. As mere humans, they have no choice but to think the worst.

What's happening out there? How can they protect Heaven from the attack? Will any of them see another day? These are among the thoughts rushing through their panicked minds. But before a plan of action can be executed, the situation takes a sudden and less-threatening turn. Amidst the commotion on the other side of Heaven's door, laughter breaks out. Laughter! And not the sinister variety. Rather, Olivia and Liam are stunned to hear joyous, rapturous laughter and shouts of joy. From a chorus of voices. It sounds more like a Pentecostal revival service out there than the hallway of a hospital.

Liam edges his way towards the door, with a wide-eyed Olivia close behind. Slowly, cautiously, he turns the silver handle. A sliver of pink light slips through the slim opening. Looking back at his lovely wife, he incredulously shrugs his shoulders. Presently, a strong force, irresistible because strangely he doesn't want to resist it, gradually pushes the door forward. As this happens, the room is flooded with radiant beams of pink luminescence - the most beautiful light that the Turners have ever perceived. The incredible brightness notwithstanding, it's not blinding. They are able to witness the ethereal presence without shielding their eyes.

The feeling of transcendent euphoria in the room is overwhelming. Tears are cascading down their transfixed faces. It's as if Heaven - the one that houses the Almighty's glorious throne - has descended upon a lone hospital room.

The otherworldly light gradually begins to contract and coalesce. Whereas it had permeated every inch of the room, now it appears to be gathering into a concentrated point. And that point happens to be directly above one sick little girl. In minutes, the light has morphed into a rotating ball of flashing pink above Heaven's bed. In a deep sleep, she is oblivious to what's happening in the air mere inches away from her ailing frame.

From a natural standpoint, any parent would have cause for alarm at such a sight. But the Turners feel no fear. On the contrary, they have never felt so confident and serene. They feel a fresh surge of spiritual energy with each pulse of the pink orb. Beyond any silhouette of earthly doubt, they know that Heaven is receiving her healing. Right this moment.

* * *

THE SPHERICAL MIRACLE. That's how the news media are describing the odds-defying recovery of one Heaven Turner. And the paranormal (Olivia prefers the word supernatural) visitation that manifested it. There is now a completely healthy little girl pointing up to the stars.

It seems the Turners can't go anywhere these days without meeting a microphone. But it's not so bad. At least they have a story to tell. One news van in particular caught their attention after bringing Heaven home from the hospital. Displayed on the side? WHVN 11 News.

How synchronous.

The Lion's Din

din: a loud, unpleasant and prolonged noise

Daniel turns the lions' den into a veritable prayer room. Beneath the ear-splitting roars of the hungry beasts can be heard the weak voice of the elderly man of God. He calls out to the living God Who created these animals encircling him.

How can this not be so? Daniel remained devoted to prayer in the face of the king's anti-prayer law. He didn't allow the threat of being thrown to the lions stop him from praying as he had always done. So why would he forego prayer now that he is staring into the ferocious faces of those very lions? If ever he needed the power of prayer, it is now.

I believe we can get a sense of what he may have prayed in that pit by piecing together certain scriptures into one powerful prayer...

''My soul is among lions. Save me from the lion's mouth. Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth. Break out the great teeth of the young lions, O LORD. How long, O Lord, will you look on and do nothing? Rescue me from their fierce attacks. Protect my life from these lions!'' (see Psalms 57:4; 22:21; 58:6; 35:17)

At some point the beastly roars cease. Silence pervades the pit. If you listen with your spiritual ears, you will hear the holy sound of divine intervention. God has sent His angel. Daniel longs to meet his Maker when at last his earthly journey comes to an end. But it won't be this day.

Job 4:10
10 The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions, are broken.

The angel could have easily slaughtered or even vaporized the lions. All options are on the table for he has been sent from Heaven. Samson took out a lion that dared to roar against him (Judges 14:5-6). The young David killed a lion that took a lamb from his flock (1 Samuel 17:34-36). And one of his ''mighty men'' - a man named Benaiah - once slew a lion in a pit on a snowy day (2 Samuel 23:20; 1 Chronicles 11:22). If these men were able to each kill a lion, imagine what the mighty angel sent to the lions' den could do!

Instead, God commissions His angel to help Daniel by shutting the lions' mouths. For one thing, this brings quiet to the situation. A closed mouth makes considerably less noise - be it man or beast. The roar is neutralized. The roar is silenced. There is no more din in the den. There is a spiritual truth here calling out for our attention. The New Testament likens the devil to a roaring lion.

1 Peter 5:8
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour...

The devil makes a lot of noise. This ''uproar'' from our spiritual adversary takes various forms. He roars at us through circumstances and problems. He roars at us through other people. He roars through the commotion of strife and discord in our broken relationships. He roars through the news media. He roars through the bad news and negative reports coming at us from a variety of sources. He will even use our own thoughts to roar at us. There is no louder, more nerve-racking noise than mental noise. All can be quiet on the outside, but your mind can be roaring with all sorts of negative thoughts.

The solution is to amplify the positive roar of Grace in your life. Think about a guitar amplifier. You plug an electric guitar into it and what happens? As the name suggests, it amplifies the music. The guitar produces a louder sound. Another familiar example of amplification is the hearing aid. This simple device has tiny amplifiers inside which enhance the volume of sounds, thus enabling its wearers to hear better.

Similarly, there are spiritual amplifiers which can help you overcome the devil's roar. There are ways to ''turn up'' faith in your daily life. As a result, you will amplify your experience of Grace because faith is our access to the grace of God.

Turn up the positive roar of Grace in your life.

You can't permanently make the devil be quiet. He will keep on roaring until the mighty angel literally shuts him up in the bottomless pit (Revelation 20:1-3). ''But,'' you may counter, ''the angel made the lions stop roaring at Daniel. Why won't God send an angel to make the devil stop roaring at me?''.

Unlike those lions, the devil is not a physical entity. Demons are not physical beings. Evil is a spiritual force at work in our world. Spiritual problems demand spiritual solutions.

God will not send an angel to do what He has already told us to do. He has already told us to ''resist the devil'' (James 4:7). Right after comparing the devil to a roaring lion, Peter instructs us to resist him with our faith (1 Peter 5:9).

God didn't send an angel to shut the devil up when he tempted His beloved Son in the wilderness. Instead, the devil only stopped roaring when Jesus resisted him by quoting specific scriptures (Matthew 4:1-11). Angels came and ministered to Him after the spiritual battle was over, but they didn't silence the devil even for God in the flesh. Likewise, it's up to us to take spiritual action when the devil roars at us or our loved ones.

Rather than yelling at the devil to shut up, a more effective strategy is to turn up the volume of Grace.
The more you focus on the Word of Grace, the less affected you will be by the lion's roar.

He is not the only one who can roar. You too can roar with your faith. You can roar through prayer. You can follow Jesus' example and roar by quoting select scriptures that apply to your situation. Perhaps it would be better to describe it as God roaring through you. Grace can bring peace and quiet even in the midst of the lions' den.

The Edge of Language

The subtleties of Language and Life are examined..

The legato of language and lingo,
The dance of diction and dialect --
Have you ever considered the difference
A little letter or two can effect?

Texture of tense,
Savor of sense,
The nuance in a sentence --
What's really the difference?

THE SCRAMBLED ANNA GRAHAM

A girl named Anna Graham who loves anagrams?
That spells fun!

I am Anna Graham,
Anna Graham I am --
With letters and words
I like to play around.

From here to there,
From there to here,
Hidden words
Are everywhere.

I eat scrambled eggs,
I see scrambled jets,
But what's even better
Is to scramble letters.

I've been found
To nag a ram --
No need to frown,
To happen it's bound
When I switch around
The parts of anagram.

Am I the only one
Who lets out a "wow"
When own becomes won
And then won becomes now?

Do you understand
How a gentleman
Becomes an elegant man?
By the switcheroo ruse
Of the versatile anagram.

I love to see a butterfly
Flutter-by my eye;
This is what I get
When letters are switched
Ever so slight.

I went to the cinema
To catch a nice flick,
There I met an iceman
And he held an ice pick;
This sorta thing happens
When letters get switched.

My parents are eternal fans
Of this gyrating rocker-man
(I think my dad called him Elvis
Right before he cracked his pelvis
From doing his darndest
To cut a jig) --
I thought this "king" was history,
Then I hear a crazy conspiracy:
Something interesting is found
When his name becomes an anagram,
And that something is...
Elvis Lives!

I visited my sis at college,
On her I dropped some knowledge:
"This place is a disgrace!
It could really use a broom."
But with shock on her face,
My sissy to me did say:
"Anna Graham! Anna Graham!
Of all people around,
You should know better --
I can't help that the letters
In dormitory turn into
Dirty room...so boom!"

In Sunday School I was told
A story that's really kinda old
About a kid named David
And a giant named Goliath
Who lived in a time so long ago;
The big fella got leveled
(So the tale goes)
By this kid David
And a lone stone;
What I later found out
(It made me want to shout) :
If I rearrange the "liath"
And mess around with "Go,"
What do I get?
This lesson and this message...
HIT GOAL!
Well what do ya know?

Oh what new things can be found
When you use this thing the anagram
To scramble letters all around!

Yours truly,
Anna Graham

SUPER B!

Between boroughs and 'burbs, behold this blurb 'bout the letter B --
it's truly superB!

Big Benny Bulger bought big beefy bulky burgers at bustling Burger Box.
Bill Bing Brock built buildings between blocks by building with blocks.

Brookborough's bungling burglar broke into backs of burgundy bungalows.
But between burglaries the bandit boogie-bebopped by bluegrass banjo.

Blake burnt Betsy's brittle breakfast-bacon bit by blackened bite.
But Blake bounced back by baking brilliant blueberry bagels b-right.

Biscuits bathed in butter bust buttons by bulging bellies big.
But business blesses bank books of budgeting billionaire bigwigs.

By the by, Billy B. Bobbins bought bunches of bags of buns.
But Brother Bobbins bestowed the bread on a beggin' bum.

Boy's bouncy blue ball buoyantly bounced by bedrooms and backdoors.
Busy babies in bumper-buggies babble and burp in Bay Bea's Bookstore.

Bump! Boo! A boogie-bogey buzzes by Bella Baker's Barbie bed.
Besides Bella's brother Bobby bustled through briars but bled.

Blind black bats badly bullied and bedeviled boys bearing backpacks.
But beautiful butterflies breezed by bringing boys blessed bliss back.

There's a lot in POP...

My Pop hates pop
But likes pop.
Pop! The pop popped
With a pop.

The cop drank pop
While listening to pop
With his Pop.
My Pop knew a cop
Named Pop
Who liked to drink pop
And listen to pop.
Then one day he stopped
Because the pop
Almost caused him to pop.

The pop will make you bop.
The pop will make your ears pop
And your head bop
Until your Pop makes it stop.
Do you bop to pop?

The pop popped,
Then it flopped
And finally it stopped.
You will flop
Without the pop.

Have you ever had
A glop of pop?
And if you had
A glop of pop,
Would you want
It to stop?

Pop makes me hop
Until I stop.
Would you hop for pop?
When would you stop?
Have you ever hopped
At a pop-hop
Until you hopped
Right out of your socks?
And when you stopped,
Did you drink some pop?

If you spill the pop,
You will need to mop.
How can you mop
While drinking pop?
You can hop to pop
Until it's time to stop.
But if you hop to pop
While drinking pop,
You will need to stop
Or you'll need to mop.

Is it time to shop for pop?
Would you hop and stop
At the pop-shop
To shop for pop?
Pop stopped at the pop-shop
To shop for pop.

Pop popped the top
Of the bottle of pop.

If the pop drops
With a pop,
You will need to sop
The pop with a mop.

Who stops at a hilltop coffee shop
With his laptop
And orders pop?

"That pop really makes the pop pop!,"
Said Pop.

"Why do you sop on the countertop?,"
Asked Pop.
"I sop because I dropped
Pop on the countertop,"
Said I to Pop.
"If you don't hop
To the sop of the pop
On the countertop,"
Replied Pop,
"You will soon need a mop."

Poppy popped by
And brought Poppie and I
A lot of pop
Which we drank
